How Crystals Shape My Jewellery ✨

The Power of Visual Imagery
I’ve always been guided by imagery — by the colours, symbols, and visual cues that shape how I want to feel. In my previous blog, I talked about how I use visualisation to bring myself back into the present moment. That same sense of visual focus is what draws me to crystals and symbolism in my jewellery.
Crystals and symbols both hold a kind of language — one that isn’t spoken, but felt. They’re reminders, messengers, and reflections of what we might need most at a particular point in time.
Choosing Crystals with Intention
When I begin a new piece, I don’t just choose crystals for their beauty (though that’s always part of it). I choose them for their energy, colour, and connection to the body’s energy meridians — or chakras.
The colour of a crystal helps me tune into where balance might be needed. For example, a deep red stone often connects with grounding and vitality, while blue might bring calm and clarity of expression. Through this simple awareness of colour, I can work intuitively, creating designs that feel harmonised and purposeful.
Crystals allow me to tap into those subtle parts of myself — the energy centres that might need a little more care, focus, or softness. They’re like mirrors, helping me understand what’s happening beneath the surface.
The Language of Symbols
Alongside crystals, symbols are a huge part of my creative process. I’m fascinated by how imagery carries meaning across cultures and time — the way a single symbol can express protection, guidance, or transformation without a single word.
I draw from many traditions and mythologies, creating connections between the stories they hold and the emotions we experience today. That’s why I created the Mystic Menace collection — to bring together these threads of symbolism and crystal energy into wearable talismans and amulets.
Each piece becomes a small story: a fusion of visual art, energy, and meaning.
Designing with Energy and Story
When I bring crystals and symbols together, I see it as an act of storytelling. The stone sets the tone — its colour, vibration, and natural form — while the symbol becomes the language through which the piece speaks.
Sometimes the design begins with a feeling or theme (like protection, guidance, or empowerment), and I’ll choose a crystal that embodies that energy. Other times, a particular stone seems to “ask” for a symbol to accompany it — a pairing that just feels right.
This process is intuitive and grounded in intention, which is why each piece in my collections comes with a properties card. These cards explain the messages and meanings behind the stones and symbols, helping my customers connect with their piece on a deeper, more personal level.
Jewellery as a Talisman
For me, jewellery has always been more than decoration. It’s a way to wear your story — to hold a reminder close to your skin of who you are, what you’re working towards, or what you want to invite in.
Crystals and symbols are powerful allies in that process. They carry meaning, memory, and mindset — and when woven together, they become small pieces of art that speak quietly to the soul.
