Welcome to the first of the Lydia Lotus Designs slversmithing workshops - run from her open studio at The Fold, Bransford, Worcestershire.
This workshop will take you through some of the basics of silversmithing to create your very own Empower Tag. A beautiful pendant designed to encompass the symbology of the shapes you choose and the stamping designs surrounding it. A perfect gift or creation for yourself.
The central shapes to choose from are:
Moon - GODDESS
Star - POWER
Heart - LOVE
Lightning Bolt - INSPIRATION
You will learn how to solder, stamp, drill, finish, and patina sterling silver. There will be the opportunity to prototype your design in copper and practice soldering and stamping before moving onto the sterling silver piece. This is suitable for beginners.
There are 3 finishes you can choose for your pendant.
The additional supplements for the gold options is something that needs to be booked at the time of purchasing your ticket, as the correct materials need to be ordered in for the workshop.
Silver - all chain and metals used are sterling silver. Included in price.
Gold & Silver - the tag is sterling silver but the accent is 14k gold fill and so is the chain and clasp. +£15
Gold - the tag and accent is sterling silver, the chain is 14k gold fill and so is the clasp. The sterling silver tag is then plated in 18k yellow gold in my studio on the day. You will need to potentially allow an extra 30mins at the end of session for this bit. +£25
The price of the workshop is £125, if you have chosen the silver & gold or gold option then I will email you with a payment link for the additional supplement after you have purchased your ticket.
This workshop is a run over the day, 10am - 4pm, and there will be a lunch break in between where you can choose to try the delicious food from the Fold or you can bring your own packed lunch.
How does the session work?
You will be given the tools and materials you need to create a beautiful piece of jewellery. Lydia will talk you through everything you need to know and get you started on your creative adventure.

Where are you?
Held in my open studio in the courtyard, located near to the Cafe at The Fold, the table here is set for 4 makers at one time. The atmosphere is laid back, it is easy to feel relaxed in here. My front door has my Lydia Lotus Designs Logo on there, you can't miss it.
What to bring.
It is important that if you use glasses to read or focus on small things that makers remember to bring glasses or anything else required to help them see something small.
Can we change or cancel the session?
Yes, You are able to change a session date or time, subject to availability. Please request any changes to be made within 2 weeks of your session. This will allow me to fill the spot.
These workshops are limited due to the timings specifically organised to run them, I do not offer refunds for missed sessions.
