These are large chunks of Herkimner Diamond, they have a long hook on the back which glints from behind the lobe (see the photos for them on).
Suspended onto 14k Gold Fill wires, that have been lightly hammered to give a little extra sparkle.
They can be gently pulled to make for easy hooking (although I haven't needed too it just depends on how robust your ear lobes are), just have a light touch, they don't need massive amounts of manipulation.
